UGANDA GORILLA SAFARI – 12 DAYS
Day 1-Arrival
Our tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel- Entebbe or similar other for your dinner and an overnight.
Day 2 - Bwindi National Park
After a morning breakfast, transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest, have lunch en route in Mbarara and arrive in Bwindi in the early evening.
Have a dinner and an overnight at Bwindi camp or Gorilla resort camp.
Day 3-The Uganda gorilla tracking safari
After a morning breakfast, walk to Buhoma park headquarters for a briefing before undertaking a gorilla tracking activity at 8.30 am. The gorilla trek can take between 3 hours to a full day depending on their movements in the jungle. After the trek return to the lodge for your lunch as you prepare for an evening community walk that will enable you to interact with the few remaining Pygmy (Batwa) community – this is the group that is believed to have evolved from the Stone Age people. This group will entertain y6ou with traditional dance and will be able to make fire by rubbing two sticks together in a similar way like the Stone Age period.
Have a dinner and an overnight on full board basis at the Gorilla Forest resort or Bwindi camp.
Day 4
After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park via Ishasha sector, in anticipation of spotting the tree-climbing lions. Proceed to Mweya peninsula en route enjoying a game drive that is enriched with herds of buffaloes, elephants, various antelope species, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and many bird species both migrant and non-migrant. Arrive at Mweya Safari Lodge for lunch. Utilize the afternoon for a game drive in the park following the Kasenyi Track – this is one of the best game-viewing areas in QENP. This area also has much to offer to the birder. These grassy plains support large flocks of raptors such as Brown Snake eagle, Martial Eagle, Bateleur, African Harrier-Hawk, Grey-Kestrel, Saddle-billed Stork, White and Abdim’s Stork, Ruppell’s griffon and the immense Lappet-faced, etc.

Day 5-QENP
After breakfast, follow the Munyanyange Lake north of Katwe for more wildlife. This place accommodates a high concentration of mammals and a variety of birds. For birders this place has a spectacular concentration of waterbirds including Greater and Lesser Flamingoes, Little Stint, Curlew Sandpiper, Greenshank, Terek Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope, Gull-billed Terns, Wintering Red-throated pipits and Northern Wheatears. After lunch at the Lodge go for a boat-cruise at Kazinga Channel that stretches between Lakes Edward and George. The wild mammals and the aquatic birds can be compared to no other place in the park.
Retire to the lodge and enjoy swimming in Mweya’s magnificent swimming pool. Have dinner and an overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury)/ Mweya Institute of Ecology (Budget) – Full Board.
Day 6-Uganda National Park Game Drive
Have an early morning game drive expecting to see early risers and predators like leopards jackals and foxes, spotted-hyena, aardwolf, African wild cat, bushbabies; Uganda kobs, bohor reedbuck, defassa waterbuck, warthog, giant forest hog, elephants, hippos, etc. After lunch drive to Kyambura Gorge for chimp tracking. Tracking chimps is an exciting experience you shouldn’t miss. In case you still have enough time you can proceed to the bat cave deep in the rain forest or just visit the Katwe Salt mining site.
Return to Mweya Safari Lodge for relaxation, dinner and an overnight (Full Board)
Day 7- Kibale national park
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Kibale national park via the crater lakes area, Kasanga forest, and lunch at primate lodge/ Nyinabulitwa Resort. In the afternoon make a community visit and interact with the Batooro people. You can as well visit tea plantation and tea factory.
Have a dinner and an overnight at Primate Lodge/ Nyinabulitwa.
Day 8-Chimpanzee Tracking
After an early morning breakfast, go for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forests. Report at Kanyanchu headquarters for a briefing and start chimpanzee tracking at 8:00 am. Expect to see a lot of primates including chimps, grey-cheeked mangabeys, L‘hoest monkeys, the white and black colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey, butterflies, different insects and forest birds. Return to the lodge for your lunch and proceed to Bigodi Swamp for birding. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary lies on the main Fort Portal to Kamwenge road, 5km south-east of the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre. This community-based project offers access to Magombe Swamp, a very interesting area of papyrus and swamp forest. Some of the special birds endemic to this habitat include papyrus Gonolek, ,white-wi9nged Warbler, papyrus canary, White-spotted Flufftail, Blue-headed Coucal, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, the spectacular Yellow-billed Barbet, Scaly-throated honeyguide, Blue-shouldered and Snowy-headed Robin-Chats, Black-faced Rufous warbler and Grey-capped Warbler.
Have an overnight at Ndali Safari Lodge (Full Board).
Day 9- Murchison falls national park
After an early morning breakfast transfer to Murchison falls national park. It is a long day drive going through the homesteads. You can make a stop-over at Albertine escarpments, to observe the separation point of the rift valley, facing the blue mountains of Congo. The view of Lake Albert at the floor of left valley is fascinating. Proceed to the Ferry crossing the River Nile to the northern bank.
Have dinner and an overnight at Paraa safari lodge (FB).
Day 10-Uganda National Park Game Drive
After breakfast undertake a morning game drive to the northern sector expecting to see lions, leopard, hyena, Jackson’s heartbeast, elephants, Uganda kob, patas and savannah monkeys found only in Murchison falls. In the afternoon, move to the bottom of the falls, expecting to see very enormous Nile crocodiles, hippos, rare shoebill, bee eaters and other species of birds.

Day 11- Depart For Kampala
After an early breakfast transfer to Kampala en route making a stop-over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a view of rhinos. Arrive in Kampala in the evening
Have a dinner and an overnight at Serena Hotel/ Golf Course Hotel (FB).
Day 12
This day is reserved for a city tour, and an airport transfer.
