Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP)
In the morning transfer to Murchison Falls National park, a drive estimated to take at least 4 hours. After your en route lunch at Kabalega Resort arrive at the top of the falls - the Murchison Falls where the Nile perfects its beauty. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya River Lodge
Day 2: Game drive and Launch cruise
Early morning game drive will reward you with mammals including elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, giraffes, warthogs, predators such as side-striped jackals, leopards and lions, etc plus a variety of bird species. In the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise downstream the Nile river where you will see a plethora of water and migratory birds, crocodiles, Hippos, etc. along the river banks. Day 3: MFNP Kibale national park
In the morning transfer to Fort Portal over a murram road (right now it is under repair) arriving in the afternoon. You may have to carry packed lunch with you. However if the nature of road is improved you will have your late lunch in Fort Portal. Overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel / Chimp Nest Lodge
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest
Chimp trekking starts at 8.00 am from Kanyanchu, the park headquarters. You need to be there early enough for a briefing by the park warden. This forest walk normally takes approximately 4 hours. There are over 95% chances of encountering the chimpanzees in Kibale forest. You may dedicate part of the day to a nature walk in Bigodi wetland a birding sanctuary managed by the local community. Day 5: Fort Portal Queen Elizabeth national park
Take your morning breakfast at 6.30 am and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. It is a 4 hours drive on a tarmac road newly repaired. Enjoy your lunch in the park and relax as you wait for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. You need to be at Mweya in time for the boat. The 3 hours boat cruise exposes you to abundant wildlife along the water channel quenching their thirst after a days feeding in the vast park. Overnight at Mweya Safari lodge/Hippo Hill Camp
Day 6: QENP - Bwindi
In the morning after breakfast, enjoy a game drive in search for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park. In the afternoon, after enjoying your packed lunch, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park arriving in the evening. Overnight Gorilla Forest Camp /Lake Kitandara Tented Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp
Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
This day marks the highlight of your 10 days gorilla tour in Uganda. Spend the day tracking the mountain gorillas in the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. Normally an encounter with the mountain gorilla family may take between 1 8 hours. There are over 80% chances of seeing the mountain gorillas in Bwindi. Day 8: Bwindi Mburo national park
After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo National park arriving in the afternoon for your lunch in Mbarara. If you are to stay in the park for an overnight, a game drive in the park will be highly rewarding with mammals including impala, elands, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs and bushbuck, and birds including the mosque swallow, by black-bellied bustard, bare-faced go-away. Day 9: Nature walks in Mburo national park
In the morning, after breakfast enjoy a guided nature walk to the salt-lick point where most mammals converge to enjoy the salty soil at this spot. Later in the day transfer to Kampala. Overnight at Speke Hotel/The Lodge Kampala or similar other
Day 10: City tour/Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Excursion
After breakfast you may opt to sail in a motorized boat to Ngamba Island to view the orphaned chimps in the semi-natural environment. Enjoy your lunch on the Island. You may simply enjoy a Kampala city tour including visiting handicraft shops for buying yourself souvenirs. In the evening we shall transfer you to the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
