Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth national park
In the morning our tour guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth national park (QENP). Game drives in QENP will reward you with over 95 mammal species of which 10 species are primates including habituated chimps in the Chambura Gorge. 20 mammal species are predators that include side-striped jackal, lions, leopards, and spotted hyena, etc. Other mammals include Defassa waterbuck, bushbuck, topi, Uganda kob and the elusive sitatunga, buffaloes, hippos, elephants and warthogs among others.
QENP hosts over 610 bird species, possibly the highest total for any national park in the world and a truly remarkable figure for a reserve that is relatively small by continental standards. Of these 54 species are raptors. Kazinga Channel is the magnet for most waterbirds. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Hippo Hill Camp(FB)
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Kyambura Gorge
Take breakfast and transfer to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Expect to see other primate species including LHoests, black-and-white, vervet, blue and red-tailed monkeys.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel as you view the numerous mammals and birds congesting the banks of the Channel.Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Hippo Hill Camp(FB)
Day 3: Ishasha Bwindi Tour
After a morning breakfast transfer to Ishasha, the southern sector of QENP for viewing tree-climbing lions. Thence proceed to Bwindi and arrive early enough for your lunch.
A total of 350 bird species have been recorded, which is relatively a high figure since the park lacks waterbirds. Of special interest to birders are 23 species endemic to the Albertine Rift, and at least 14 species found nowhere else in Uganda, including the African Green Broadbill, Brown-necked Parrot, Frazers eagle owl, white-tailed blue flycatcher and white-bellied robin chat. There are over 200 butterfly species in Bwindi. Butterfly watchers can be able to identify more than 50 varieties in a day. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
As early as 8.00 am arrive at the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. At 9.00 am commence the gorilla trekking activity following the gorilla trails deep in the thick forest. The time taken to encounter the gorillas ranges between 2 and 8 hours, and at times a full day depending on the movement of these awesome apes on a particular day.
In the evening undertake a community walk to the local beer brewers and to the pygmy community for a cultural performance. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)
Day 5: Lake Mburo national park wildlife Tour
