8 Days / 7 Nights Uganda Rwanda Gorilla Safari

A 8 days mountain gorilla safari to Uganda and Rwanda taking you for mountain gorilla tracking in both Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Volcanoes National Park. After the gorilla trek, the trip takes your for a mini-safari in both Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo national parks. Game viewing in these savanna parks is rewarding with sightings of different wildlife that includes elephants, impalas, lions, zebras, waterbucks, topis, buffaloes etc. Two gorilla tracking opportunities are included on this itinerary to maximise your experience of seeing the gorillas in both countries.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Day 5 & 6: Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi & its Islands

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport
Upon your arrival at Entebbe airport, our company representative will transfer you to the hotel for an overnight. Overnight at The Sanctum – Entebbe / The Lodge – Kampala (BB)

Day 2: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park
Depart from Kampala very early in the morning, traverse the Uganda Equator arriving in the afternoon in Queen Elizabeth national park. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Hippo Hill Camp

Day 3: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park
At 6.00 am, after breakfast enjoy a morning game drive and proceed to Ishasha for tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon transfer to Bwindi national park arriving early enough for a community walk to the Pygmies (the Batwa) for cultural performances. Overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast walk to the park headquarters for a briefing by one of the park rangers. At 9.00 am gorilla trekking starts. It normally takes between 2 to 6 hours to meet these awesome mountain gorillas. Overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp / Buhoma Community Rest Camp

Day 5: Bwindi to Volcanoes national park
Early after break fast, head to Rwanda via Kisoro and cross the Rwandan Border to Ruhengeri. Spend the night at Volcanoe Virunga Camp/ Gorilla Nest camp / Kinigi Guest House.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes national Park
Early in the morning, go for briefing by the guide at Ruhengeri Park headquarters at Kinigi. Begin trekking the gorillas at 9:00am the time you will spend tracking these peaceful apes will depend on their on their movements in the jungle, though normally it may take between 1 to 6 hours. After the gorilla trek, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda. Overnight at Acardia Cottages (BB).

Day 7: Boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Mbarara (Lake Mburo national park)
After a morning boat cruise transfer to Mbarara. Overnight at Lake View Hotel – Mbarara (BB)

Day 8: Lake Mburo national park – Kampala
Take an early morning breakfast and transfer
to Lake Mburo national park for a guided nature walk. You will have an opportunity to encounter several mammals especially buffaloes, impalas, waterbucks, warthogs, zebras, etc. Later proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening. Overnight at Golf Course Hotel / The Lodge (BB)
