13 Days Uganda - Rwanda Safari with Africa Adventure Safaris.
DAY 1
Early in the morning head to the west from Kampala. Enjoy a scenic drive Northwest through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town. Have a lunch stop-over in Masindi and proceed to Murchison via Budongo forest, on the Western Arm of the East African Rift valley and Lake Albert. Drive to the Top of the falls where you can see the Nile’s ideal beauty and awesome spot, as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a 7-meter gorge, creating a thunderous growl and a stunning spectacle in a plume of spray making it the best thing ever happened to the Nile. Enjoy the sunset as you drive to retire with the services of Luxury -Paraa Uganda Safari Lodge / Nile safari camp or Basic -Red Chillis Camp/ Sambiya River lodge .
DAY 2
Early in the morning after a cup of tea, undertake an early morning game drive on the northern bank where you will be helped by the guide to spot lions, elephants, cape buffalo, hartebeests, rothchild’s giraffes, bohor reed bucks, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, hyenas, and sometimes leopards. Retire from the game drive to the lodge for late breakfast and a rest at the pool side. After your lunch, go for a boat cruise up stream to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls. Here you can see the wonderful toothsome hippos, crocodiles and elephants, waterbucks and Uganda Kobs at a stretch of 17-kilometers. The area is also blessed with a variety of bird species including Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, goliath herons, kingfishers, cormorants, Hornbills and the rare shoebill stork. Consequent to, having shots of the photogenic Murchison Falls, return for dinner and a night stay at Luxury -Paraa Uganda Safari Lodge/ Nile safari camp or Basic -Red Chilli camp/ Sambiya River Lodge
DAY 3
Wake up early in the morning with packed breakfast and lunch and transfer to Fort portal. Drive via the Albertaine Escarpment of the western Rift valley on the Masindi-Hoima-Fort portal road. It will be a whole day drive which will reward you with sceneries of the lush countryside and traditional farms and homesteads. Fort Portal rests in the shadows enchanted “Mountains of the Moon.” Reach late in the evening and spend the night at Luxury -Ndali safari Lodge or Mid range -Rwenzori View Guest House in Fort portal or Basic -Kanyaankyu ecological site preferably in a Sky Tree House.
DAY 4
Early after break fast, drive to Kibale Forest N/P, for primate viewing. The activity commences at 8.00 a.m. in the morning for a half day search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, , Blues, Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabeys Red-Colobuses swinging from tree to tree through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects. Detailed explanations by the guide, will be provided to you not only on primates butother flora and afauna ensuring that your walk is informative and exciting. This viewing offers the animals in close quarters. Pay avisit at Bigodi swamp eco tourism site to be rewarded with astounding and sole flora and fauna. You can have lunch at Kanyanchu Tourist centre or Fort portal.. Dinner and overnight -Luxury -Ndali safari Lodge or Mid range -Rwenzori View Guest House in Fort portal or Basic -Sky Tree House
DAY 5
Early in the morning after breakfast, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the spiritual Rwenzori Mountain Range most of the journey.While traveling agame drive will be rewarded with Leopards, Elephants, Hyenas, Buffaloes, waterbucks, and a variety of Antelope species. Arrive early for lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. Consequent to lunch, embarkon a sole 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip will reward you with a view of aswamp of Hippos and many other animalssuch as buffaloes may be seen at the water edge s. Inclusive will bethe variety of bird species migrant and resident, such as the rare shoebill. Dinner and overnight at Luxury -Mweya Uganda Safari Lodge/Jacana safari lodge,Hippo camp or Basic -Institute of Ecology.
DAY 6
Early in the morning have a cup of coffee and drive to Kyambura gorge with a packed breakfast for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. Look ahead to also see the hyena, giant forest hog, and lion. You will be provided with walking stick if you need one. After the hike, drive back to the lodge for lunch. Consequent to lunch, go sight-seeing around the crator lakes region set deep into the volcanic crators and Baboon cliff for a wonderful memorable experience. Take a visit at Lake Katwe to have alook at the local methods of salt mining as well. Evening game drive as you return to the lodge. Have dinner and spend the night at Luxury -Mweya safari Lodge/ Jacana safari lodge, Hippo camp or Basic -Institute of Ecology.
DAY 7
Smile for the sun rise with a cup of coffee and then proceed along Kasenyi track and Queens mile for an early morning game drive in the park to see; leopard, Lions, Elephants, Warthogs, cape buffalo, hyena, waterbucks mangoose, , Kobs, and lots many small animals and birds. Consequent to the game drive, drive to Bwindi through Maramagambo and Ishasha sector. As you drive along the road via Ishasha sector, animals such as the elephant, waterbucks, antelopes, buffalo, Kobs, can be seen along the road. Retire around homesteads and visit the local community-Batwa to enjoy the local traditional dance. Spend the night at Lake Kitandara tented Camp or basic at Buhoma community bandas.
DAY 8
Very early in the morning enter the gorilla sanctually afert a cup of coffee. The rainforest is astounding since it offers a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists. Mammals that can be sighted here include the endangered mountain gorilla, buffalo, the rare golden monkey, elephants, black-fronted duikers, leopards, bushbucks, giant forest hogs as well as other animals. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas, where the time taken and terrain varies according to the movements of these awe-inspiring apes primates. Observing and spenind time with the gorillas is an unusuall, inspiring, stunning and excting adventure. These are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other. Have dinner and spend a night at Lake Kitandara tented Camp or basic at Buhoma community bandas.
DAY 9
Have breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to Rwanda through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. Drive through the winding road and terraced landscape and reach kisoro for lunch and then drive to Uganda/Rwanda border and cross to Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at luxury Volcanoes rest camp Camp Rwanda / mid range Gorilla nest camp .
DAY 10
Wake up very early in the morning for a briefing before the gorilla trekking starts at 9:00am. After tracking, drive to kabale for your dinner and over night.
DAY 11
Early in the morning after breakfast, head to Lake Mburo National Park, have lunch while traveling to enter the park through Nshara Gate. Have a candlelit dinner and first class service at the Mantana Tented Camp and in the heart of the African Bush underneath the starlit African sky/ drive to mbarara for Agip Motel , or basic at Rwonyo rest camp.
DAY 12
Go for amorning game drive along the lake shore track The morning game drive will take you along the lakeshore track, through the “Kigambara Loop” that offers interesting guided lakeside walks- to find cape buffaloes, herds of zebra and eland, and Pribi and topi which are easy to approach. Along with the game drive, enjoy the enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo and self-guided nature trails. Bird watches will be rewarded with over than 250 species of birds in Lake Mburo for example Brown-faced Lapwings, Papyrus Gonoleks, the extraordinary White winged Warbler, Carruther’s Cisticolas, and Bare-Faced Go-away bird. Have lunch and then cruise back to Kampala stopping by the Equator for photographs and at Mpigi Royal drum Makers where ceremonial drums are crafted using methodspassed on for generations. Proceed to Kampala to arrive early evening and Spend the night at your Hotel
DAY 13
Early morning after break fats head to Jinja at the source of the Nile- where the river starts ts journey to the Mediterranean Sea and also to enjoy the Bujagali Falls. Consequent to lunch drive back to Kampala and then Entebbe to catch up with your flight.
