Uganda - Rwanda Safari with Africa Adventure Safaris

DAY 1:Kampala - Murchison Falls Np
In the morning transfer northwards with a lunch stop-over in Masindi and proceed to Murchison via Budongo forest,in the Albertine Rift valley arriving at the top of the falls in the late afternoon. At this point the Nile River's beauty is perfected as the river compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a 6-meter gorge, making it the most powerful natural surge of water found anywhere in the world. Cross by a ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge (FB)

DAY 2: Game drive in Murchison Falls NP
Undertake a morning game drive on the northern bank. The area near the delta is congested with abundant wildlife including lions, elephants, cape buffalo, hartebeests, rothchild’s giraffes, bohor reedbucks, waterbucks, oribi, bushbucks, hyenas, and sometimes  leopards. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and a rest at the pool side. After your lunch, go for a boat cruise up stream to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls. Here you can see the wonderful toothsome hippos, crocodiles and elephants, waterbucks and Uganda Kobs at a stretch of 17-kilometers. The area is also blessed with a variety of bird species including Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, goliath herons, kingfishers, cormorants, Hornbills and the rare shoebill stork. DAY 3:Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast traverse the Albertaine Escarpment and the lush countryside, traditional farms and homesteads arriving in Fort Portal in the aftenoon for a late lunch. Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge /Rwenzori View Guest House/Kanyaankyu Ecological Site / Sky Tree House (FB)

DAY 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Early after break fast transfer to Kanyanchu, Kibale Park Headquarters, before 8.00 am for chimpanzee trekking. Apart from chimps, Kibale forest harbours other primates including phoestes, Blue, Red-tailed and grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Red-Colobuses, etc; birds, butterflies and many small insects. Pay avisit at Bigodi swamp eco tourism site to be rewarded with astounding flora and fauna. Return to the lodge for your lunch. Dinner and overnight at Ndali safari Lodge /Rwenzori View Guest House/Kanyaankyu ecological site / Sky Tree House (FB)


DAY 5
: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Take your breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. The trip may take you approximately 3 hours. Enjoy your lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. In the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel between Lakes Edward and George. Apart from a healthy population of savanna wildlife, the Channel acts as a natural magnet for waterbirds. Dinner and overnight at Jacana safari Lodge /Mweya Safari Lodge (FB)

DAY 6: Wildlife Viewing in QENP
Embark on a morning game drive in search of early risers and predators such as lions, jackals, hyenas and leopards. Return to the lodge for breakfast before transfering to Kyambura Game Reserve for more chimp trekking. You may also enjoy a forest walk in Maramagambo forest. Dinner and overnight at Jacana safari Lodge /Mweya Safari Lodge (FB)

DAY 7:Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha for tree-climbing lions
After a morning cup of coffee proceed along Kasenyi track and Queens mile  for a rewarding game drive anticipating to see leopards, Lions, Elephants, Warthogs, cape buffalo, hyena, waterbucks mangoose, Kobs, and lots of many small animals and birds. Later drive  to Bwindi through Maramagambo and Ishasha sector anticipating to see tree-climbing lions. Arrive in the evening in Bwindi. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara tented Camp or Basic Buhoma community bandas

DAY 8 : Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
After a hearty breakfast go gorilla treking. Encountering the mountain gorillas in their natural environment is the highlight of a trip to Africa. Dinner and overnight  at Lake Kitandara tented Camp or basic Buhoma community bandas

DAY 9 : Transfer to Rwanda via 'the Switzerland of Africa'
After breakfast transfer to Rwanda traversing the spectacular Kigezi highlands comonly known as the ' Switzerland of Africa' and cross the Uganda - Rwanda border to Ruhengeri. In the evening visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo for a boat drive and interacting with the local community. Dinner and overnight at luxury Volcanoes Rest camp Camp Rwanda / mid-range Gorilla Nest camp

DAY 10: Gorilla tracking in Volcano national park
Spend part of the day tracking mountain gorillas in Volcano national park. In the afternoon cross back to Uganda and stay at Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo
Early in the morning after breakfast, head to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en route in Mbarara. Enter the park through Nshara Gate. Dinner and overnight at Agip Motel , or basic Rwonyo Rest Camp

DAY 12: Game Drive in Lake Mburo national park
After breakfast undertake a game drive and in some areas a guided nature walk. The morning game drive will take you along the lakeshore track, through the “Kigambira Loop” that offers interesting guided lakeside walks. Expect to see cape buffaloes,  herds of zebra, eland, oribi and topi which are easy to approach. Bird watches will be rewarded with over 250 species including Brown-faced Lapwings, Papyrus Gonoleks, the extraordinary White-winged Warbler, Carruther’s Cisticolas, and Bare-faced Go-away bird. After lunch drive back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel or similar other

DAY 13: The Source of the Nile
After breakfast transfer to Jinja at the Source of the Nile. Proceed to Bujagali Falls and enjoy white water rafting and bungee jumping. In evening return to Kampala. Depending on your flight schedule you may fly out of Uganda.
