10 DAYS (9 NIGHTS) UGANDA TOUR , GORILLA SAFARI IN UGANDA
Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Early in the morning after breakfast leave Kampala by road for Murchison Falls to via Luwero Triangle and Budongo forest on the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. The journey offers beautiful sceneries and wildlife which you can photograph while traveling. Arrive in the evening at the top of the wonderful falls where the Nile perfects its beauty. At this point the wide, languid Nile is transformed into explosive foam of thunderous white water and funnel through a narrow cleft in the rift valley escarpments. It offers the most inspiring sight of its type in East Africa. Then cross over by a ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 2: Wildlife tour and Launch cruise
After breakfast undertake a game drive in the northern part of the park in search for Elephants, lions, Buffaloes, Bushbucks and a variety of bird species. After lunch embark on a launch trip to the top of the falls. The launch provides an opportunity to see crocodiles, Hippos and water birds along the river banks. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 3: Murchison – Kibale national park
Very early in the morning take breakfast and drive to Kibale national park via Fort portal. Fort portal is situated amidst lush rolling hillsides swathed in the neat tree plantations and clouds offering excellent sceneries across to the glacial peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains. You can take photographs of these beautiful sceneries en route. After lunch you may undertake a community walk – traditional dances can be organized for you. Dinner and a night at Ndali Safari lodge or Tree House at Kanyankyu Ecological Centre
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing and registration before tracking the chimps at 8:00 AM. Expect to see chimps, colobus monkeys, blue, red-tailed and grey-cheeked mangabeys, butterflies and insects of different species. After lunch you may go birding in the Bigodi wetland Sanctuary. Dinner and a night at Ndali Safari lodge or Tree House at Kanyankyu Ecological Centre
Day 5: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. En route enjoy a game drive. After lunch undertake a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. The wildlife along the channel is overwhelming. Have dinner and spend the night at Mweya Safari lodge
Day 6: Forest walk in Maramagambo
After a cup of tea, undertake a morning game drive and proceed for a forest walk to the maramagambo Forest. Inside the forest you will visit the Python cave. After lunch go for an afternoon chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 7: QENP – Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park
In the morning after breakfast drive off to Bwindi national park through the Ishasha sector for viewing tree-climbing lions en route. Arrive early for your lunch in Buhoma. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Tent/ Buhoma community bandas
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking
Very early in the morning take breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters before commencing to trek the mountain gorillas. Normally encountering the mountain gorilla takes between 2- 8 hours depending on the movement of these humble giants. The activity is strenuous but the experience of viewing the great apes play, feed and interact is worth the struggle. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara Tent/ Buhoma community bandas
Day 9: Bwindi – Mburo national park
After breakfast drive to Lake Mburo National park. On your way to Mantana Tented Camp you will have an opportunity to see mammals such as impala, buffaloes, warthogs and bushbuck, and birds. After lunch go for a boat ride on the Lake as you watch water birds like the mosque swallow, by black-bellied bustard, bare-faced go-away and hippopotamus. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp /Mantana Tented Camp
Day 10: End of the tour
Wake up for an early morning game drive and later proceed to Kampala. Along the way make a stop-over at the Equator for handicrafts and photography. Arrive in the evening in Kampala for a city tour. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel and Hotel Africana
