Where to go: This Uganda - Tanzania safari is designed to include prime tour areas of the northern part of Tanzania and Uganda national parks. This tour itinerary covers Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara national parks in Tanzania; Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls national parks in Uganda will offer you the best of a game drive.
Day 1 Arrival Entebbe International Airport- Uganda
On your arrival you will be welcomed by our safari representative who will transfer you to the hotel of your choice in either Entebbe or Kampala.
Enjoy your dinner and an overnight at Imperial Botanical Hotel/ Speke hotel (Full Board)
Day 2 - The Top of the Falls - Murchison Falls
After breakfast, transfer to Murchison falls national park, en route pay a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to view the endangered rhinos in the wild. You may get your lunch in Masindi along the way to the Murchison. Drive straight to the spectacular Murchison falls, after which the park is named. Its perfected beauty created by the Nile River as it squeezes itself in the narrow canyon to form a thunderous roar and a rainbow in a plume of spray this is the best point of River Nile! Have your dinner and an overnight at Paraa Uganda Safari Lodge / Red Chilli Rest Camp (FB)
Day 3 A launch cruise to the Murchison Falls
After an early breakfast, traverse the Northern part of the park for a game drive to view and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, and if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species. After lunch, proceed for a boat cruise to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunder. This is an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 4 - Fort Portal in the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast, drive from Murchison Falls NP heading Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima and reach the colorful town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, the Rwenzori. Have lunch. In the afternoon proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel. The days journey is long, as it takes about 7-8 hours drive.
Day 5 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - the Pearl of Uganda
Take an early morning cup of coffee before setting off for a game drive along Kasenyi track and Queens Mile in anticipation of lions, elephants, buffalos, warthogs and lots of animals and birds. Get back to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, enjoy the launch trip on Kazinga Channel for amazing bird life and a variety of wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Uganda Safari Lodge (FB)
Day 6 - Kyambura Gorge Chimps
After a cup of coffee, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. This gorge is 16 km long and 100 meter deep in the Rift Valley. The rangers will provide you with walking sticks for this spectacular trekking. After a primate walk, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Maramagambo and Ishasha sector of the Park.

Day 7 - Uganda Gorilla Tour
After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides, set off for the mountains gorilla tracking inside the Bwindi forest. You need to carry drinking water, rain jacket and jungle boots while the rangers will provide you with walking sticks. Gorilla tracking is the highlight of this tour. An hours stay in the forests with these awesome primates will enable you to interact with them as some young ones may brave to walk with you holding your hand. After this marvelous gorilla trek traverse the Kigezi highlands, well known as the Switzerland of Africa, to Lake Bunyonyi. Have a dinner and an overnight at Arcadia Cottages or HaBuharo. FB
Day 8 - The magnificent scenery of Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast, have a boat ride inside Lake Bunyonyi to various islands inside the lake for bird viewing, sight seeing and interacting with local community that includes pygmies and Bakiga. Enjoy a traditional dance from the locals. Later in the day transfer to Kampala with lunch en route in Masaka.
Arrive in the evening at Hotel Africana / Speke Hotel for your dinner and an overnight.
Day 9 Transfer to Arusha
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Arusha for extensive wildlife safaris. Have a dinner and an overnight at Impala Hotel or similar other (BB)
Day 10 Arusha / Lake Manyara
After breakfast, take a two-hour drive, or half hour flight from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive. There are two famous spectacles in this park: the tree-climbing lions, which spend most of the day spread out along the branches of Acacia trees six to seven metres above the ground; and tree-climbing pythons. Nestling at the floor of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara national park is noted for its incredible beauty. As you enter the gate the lush forest is a home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The soda lake, itself covering 200 sq km and sanctuary to over 400 bird species including flamingoes, pelicans, sacred Ibis, storks, cormorants and Egyptian geese is a place worth the visit. The park is famous for its enormous herds of buffalo and elephant. Hippos, giraffes, reedbuck, wildebeest, warthog, zebras, and a variety of smaller animals characterize this park.

Day 11 Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, drive to Olduvai Gorge, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a short drive off the main road between the Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. Olduvai Gorge is one of the Tanzanias eight world heritage sites. The name Olduvai derives from the Masai word, Oldupai, which is the sisal that grows in the gorge. It was here that, in 1959, Dr Louis Leaky and his wife Mary discovered the skull of first nutcracker man and a year later, the remains of Homo hablis or handy man considered as mankinds first step on the ladder of human evolution. Nevertheless, many more fossils have been discovered here including those of prehistoric elephants, giant horned sheep and enormous ostriches. Day 12 - Ngorongoro / Arusha / Zanzibar
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Ngorongoro Crater Area the largest unbroken caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610 metres from the crater floor, this natural amphitheatre, measures 19.2 km in diameter and 304 sq km in area. It is a natural habitat to 30,000 animals, almost half being wildebeest and zebra. Elephant, buffalo, hippo, hyena, lion, jackal, warthog, bushbuck, eland, hartebeest, reedbuck, waterbuck, and enormous herds of both Thomsons and Grants gazelle are easily spotted on the crater floor. It is in this place where tourists are certain of spotting black in East Africa. Then drive to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar.
