How was your safari?
Fantastic! It was well planned and we were able to see many different parts of Uganda. We enjoyed our gorilla safari.
Comment about the driver guide and the vehicle you used on safari.
Both Silver and Joseph were punctual, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and very conscience. Their many years of experience leading Africa safaris and driving in the remote areas of Uganda were very much appreciated. We felt safe and secure the entire trip. Great driving by Joseph!
Comment about the vehicle you used on the safari
While the vehicle was not new, it served us well and we did not have any mechanical problems other than one flat tire which was fixed right away.
Were your expectations for this safari fulfilled or overwhelmed?
Overwhelmed! Silver always prepared us well for the next day’s events…what to wear, timing, meals, etc.
What are your recommendations for Africa Adventure Safaris?
Get as much internet exposure as possible. Reviews posted by your clients are very helpful. More information about appropriate tipping would be helpful.
Give any other comments about the general tour.
Many Americans are looking for more luxurious travel and accommodations. Be sure to explain to them what the safari will be like especially the many hours on bumpy, dirty roads.

Examples of the great service
- A few days into the trip we mentioned that we had not yet tasted any traditional Uganda food. At Ndali Lodge, Silver arranged to have 3 Ugandan dishes especially prepared for us and served with our supper.
- Silver and Joseph waited patiently for an hour for the Kampala Express bus to arrive to be sure Sear and Katherine were safely on their way.
- While Silver walked to the Gorilla Ranger Station to check us in, Joseph took Bill to the hospital clinic to get medicine for his sick stomach.
Lodges & Hotels
- Emin Pasha – Although not part of our tour, we highly recommend this hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the food is excellent.
- Paraa Lodge: Very nice
- Ndali Lodge: Outstanding! Beautiful setting, clean rooms, good wine and excellent food. Very good service.
- Mweya Lodge: Very nice.
- Gorilla Safari Lodge: Nice experience, good food and attentive service.
- Arcadia Cottages: Beautiful setting. However, this was our least favorite lodge. The staff did not have a lot to do so they had the TV blasting all day – even during our supper. Our food took 1hour to arrive after ordering. We were the only guests but we did not feel special or welcome.
The Safari Land Cruiser was perfect for that kind of safari and it was very strong
