Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala Queen Elizabeth National Park
Start your Uganda Rwanda safari from Kampala as early as 7:30am with the help of our tour guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 2: Chimp trekking & Kazinga channel Launch cruise
Dedicate the morning hours to chimp trekking in Kyambura Gorge. Proceed to Maramagambo Forest and visit the blue Crater Lake and the nearby bat cave in which the huge pythons are seen feasting on the numerous bats. Return to the lodge for your lunch and in the afternoon enjoy a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel whose huge population of wildlife makes this activity the highlight of a visit to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Queen - Bwindi Impenetrable National park
After breakfast transfer to Bwindi national park via Ishasha the southern sector of QENP in search of tree climbing lions. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the meantime, and later proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park arriving in the evening.
Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge / Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Homestead/ L. Kitandara Tented camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas (FB).

Day 4: Gorilla tracking
Walk to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers before undertaking a gorilla trek at 8.30 am local time. It normally takes between 2 to 8 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas in the jungle. This depends on their movements in the natural environment. Return to the lodge for your lunch. In the evening you may opt to undertake a community walk to the local people, the Batwa for cultural performances. Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge / Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Homestead/ L. Kitandara Tented camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas (FB).

Day 5: Bwindi - Rwanda Safari
After breakfast transfer to Kisoro. Drive across the Uganda Rwanda border to Kinigi. Upon your arrival visit the Dianne Fossey Tombs. Dinner and overnight at Mt Gorilla nest lodge/ Kinigi guest House / Muhavura lodge (FB)

Day 6: Tracking Gorillas in Rwanda
After breakfast, drive to the Park Headquarters for a briefing from the local guides before commencing to trek the mountain gorillas in the Virungas at 8.30 am local time. Later transfer to Kabale in Uganda for your dinner and overnight at Habuharo Island Camp/ Arcadia cottages/ Bushara Island Camp.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi
In the morning embark on a boat cruise at Bunyonyi Lake before transferring to Kampala with lunch en route.
