Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kigali - Rwanda
Our tour guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the lodge of your choice. Dinner and overnight in Kigali

Day 2 Nyungwe Forest Tour
After breakfast undertake a city tour of Kigali before transferring to Nyungwe Forest national park en route visiting the famous National Museum at Butare and the ancient Kings Palace at Nyanza. Overnight at Kigali Serena Lodge

Day 3 Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest
This day is reserved for primates tracking in Nyungwe National Park. This is the largest block of montane forest in East or Central Africa and is an incredibly rich in biodiversity. With over 13 primate species resident, a visit to this forest is highly rewarding as you will be able to see huge troops of Angola Colobus monkeys and chimpanzees. Overnight at Kigali Serena Lodge

Day 4 Chimp Tracking & Birding
After breakfast undertake a nature walk in Nyungwe Forest towards Kamiranzovu waterfall. This track is rich in primates and birds. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight in Kibuye

Day 5 Lake Launch Trip
Enjoy a morning boat cruise along beautiful Lake Kivu to either Napoleons (its shaped like his hat) Island or Amahoro (peace) Island. Overnight in Kibuye

Day 6 Lake Kivu Fishing Trip
In the morning go fishing at the shores of Lake Kivu. In the afternoon undertake swimming on this bilharzia-free lake. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kivu

Day 7 Trip to Rubona Hot Springs
Undertake a trip to the nearby Rubona to view the local hot springs and then proceed to Ruhengeri via lush tea plantations. Spend the afternoon exploring the fourth largest town in Rwanda with a stunning backdrop of three volcanic mountains. Overnight in Ruhengeri

Day 8 Gorilla Tracking in Virunga
Undertake gorilla trekking in the Virungas. Go for briefing at the park headquarters at Kinigi and at 8.30 am commence tracking the gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. The wildlife experience of encountering the mountain gorillas is overwhelming. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House

Day 9 Golden Monkey Tracking in Virunga Ranges
In the morning return to Volcanoes National Park for tracking the rare golden monkey, and of course you will be able to encounter mountain gorillas once again. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House

Day 10 Visoke Mountain Hiking Tour
Embark on mountain hiking tour to the ascent of Mount Bisoke. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House

Day 11 Akagera Wildlife Tour
Transfer to the low-lying undulating plains of Akagera National Park for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Lodge

Day 12 Game drive in Akagera National Park
Undertake a full day game drive as you spot elephant, giraffe, hippo, zebra, and crocodiles. If you are lucky you might also spot lion, leopard and black rhino. For those interested in an African game drive dont miss Akagera National Park. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Lodge

Day 13 Drive back to Kigali for your scheduled flight to your private destination.
