8 Days Rwanda Burundi Safari

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali
Undertake a city tour and visit places including Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, the handicrafts market, etc. Transfer to Ruhengeri and stay an overnight at Kinigi Guest Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
In the morning undertake a gorilla trek in Virungas

Day 3: Golden Monkeys Trekking
Undertake golden monkeys trekking in the Virunga. After lunch proceed to Gisenyi and relax at Lake Kivu beach

Day 4: A boat trip on Lake Kivu
In the morning enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Kivu as you watch the spectacular scenery of the Nyiragongo Volcanoes which has erupted recently in 2002. In the afternoon transfer to Nyungwe. Overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House

Day 5: Chimp trek in Nyungwe Forest
In the morning embark on chimp trekking in Nyungwe Forest. You will not miss to see other primates including LHoests monkeys and Angola Colobus monkeys. Overnight stay at Gisakura

Day 6: Transfer to Butare
In the morning transfer to Butare en route visiting Nyanza Kings palace, Gikongoro Genocide memorial at Murambi
Overnight stay at Credo Hotel

Day 7: Transfer to Burundi
Cross-over to Burundi and visit the National Museum in Gitega, and proceed to Kagera Falls and on to Bujumbura.

Day 8: Burundi City Tour
Visit the mausoleum of Prince Louis Rwagasore, whose efforts led to the independence of Burundi, hike to the Belvedere on the top of the hill, an important point of Bujumbura, offering a spectacular view of Lake Tanganyika. After lunch, transfer 10 km south to "La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone" the commemorating stone of the place where the famous explorer Stanley uttered the less known Dr Livingstone, I presume on encountering the legendary Scotsman. Relax at Lake Tanganyika beach.

In the afternoon transfer back to Kigali for your return flight.
