The 7 Days Rwanda Uganda Safari begins with gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park; then crossing into Uganda to trek gorillas again in Bwindi impenetrable Forest national park; and finally a game viewing safari in Lake Mburo national park.
Day 1: Arrival for Rwanda Safaris
Upon your arrival at Kigali International airport, our tour guide will welcome you and transfer you to Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House (FB)
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in the Virunga
After breakfast move to the park headquarters at Kinigi for briefing before undertaking gorilla trekking in Volcano national park at 8.30 am. Time taken to encounter the mountain gorillas ranges between 2 to 6 hours. You will be allowed to remain in the presence of the gorillas for an hour. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House (FB)
Day 3: Rwanda Uganda Tour
After breakfast cross-over to Uganda by road traversing the Kigezi Highlands commonly referred to the Switzerland of Africa to Bwindi. After lunch undertake a community walk to the animist Pygmies (the Batwa) people who cultural performances that are so exciting. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp (High-end), Lake Kitandara Camp (Mid range) / Basic Buhoma community bandas
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Take an early morning breakfast and move to the park headquarters at Buhoma for a briefing before tracking the gorillas at 8.30 am. Time taken to encounter the gorillas in the jungle ranges between an hour to a full day depending on the movement of these awesome apes. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi is the highlight of a Uganda vacation. Ensure that you visit Bwindi for gorillas tracking before leaving Africa. The wildlife experience derived from the gorilla trek is incomparable to none. Dinner and over night Gorilla Resort Camp (High-end), Lake Kitandara Camp (Mid range) /Basic Buhoma community bandas
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park
Take breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo national park with lunch en route in Mbarara town. Begin with an afternoon game drive The afternoon game drive along the lakeshore track, and with its own system of game trails and cleared walkways, the "Kigambara Loop" offers exciting guided lakeside walks. Here expect to see herds of zebra, Cape buffalo and eland, oribis and topi, etc. Bird watchers may enjoy more than 250 bird species including Papyrus Gonoleks, brown-faced Lapwings, Carruther's Cisticolas, the extraordinary White-winged Warbler and Bare-Faced Go-away bird. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp / Mihingo Lodge or Rwonyo Rest Camp
Day 6: Game drive in Lake Mburo national park
In the morning follow the eastern hinterland of Lake Mburo with its network of game tracks along with a variety of savanna animals and birds. Connect the Ruroko Track which passes rock kopjes that are home to the elusive klipspringer. Proceed to Lyantonde for your lunch for your onward transfer to Kampala with a stop-over at the Equator for handicrafts and photography. Arrive in Kampala and stay at Speke Hotel or similar other.
Day 7: Kampala City Tour
After breakfast undertake a city tour to prominent places including Namugongo matyres shrine, Bahai temple, Uganda Museum, Makerere University, Kasubi tombs, Iteso cultural dance near Kasubi, Namirembe and Rubaga cathedral, Kabaka's lake, shopping arcades in town and craft shops including National theatre. You may organize an excursion out of Kampala or take a flight back to your home country.
