7 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Tour

Day 01: Arrival for Rwanda Safaris
Upon your arrival at Kanombe International Airport, our company representative will meet you and transfer you to a hotel for your dinner and an overnight.
Dinner and over night at Gorilla Nest Lodge or Hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi Guest House. (BB)

DAY 02: Mountain Gorilla Trek in the Volcano National park

Volcano national park is one of the most excellent parks in the world for gorilla Safari. Most of what we see in this park is the legacy attributed to the late Dr Dian Fossey (Read: Gorillas in the mist a book written by Dian Fossey).
Commence the gorilla trek at 9.00 am in the Virunga ranges. Usually the time to encounter the gorillas ranges between 2 and 8 hours depending on their movements on that particular day. After tracking these awesome primates return to the hotel for relaxation and meals.

DAY 03:  Visit the Dian Fossey Graveyard
After a morning breakfast, move to the famous Dian Fossey Research centre at Karusoke and the Grave Yard. Dr. Dian Fossey spent close to two decades habituating, researching and conserving the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Return for overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge in Kinigi or hotel Chez Lando or Kinigi guest house. (FB)


DAY 04: Primates Trek in Nyungwe Forest.

Take a morning breakfast and then transfer to Nyungwe Forest. This Forest is characterized by montane forest, bamboo, grasslands, swamps and bogs, covering mountainous slopes that culminate into the Virunga Ranges that straddle Uganda, DRC and Rwanda. It provides a safe haven for various primates including Golden Monkeys, alongside other monkey species with a variety of birds.

DAY 05: Chimpanzee trekking
After an early breakfast undertake a chimpanzee trek. Among other mammals you will encounter will include golden monkeys, LHoests monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys and owl-faced monkeys among others. For birds the forest is a birders haven.

DAY 06: Genocide Memorial visit
Dedicate the morning to a city tour and the afternoon visit the Genocide Memorial Ground where remains of thousands of Tutsis and moderate Hutus can be seen.
Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Des Mille Collines

DAY 07: End of Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari
Depending on your schedule our tour guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
