KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

Kibale National Park accomodates the greatest variety and concentration of primates in the whole of East Africa. It is a home to the largest number of our closest living relatives - the chimpanzees.Kibale rain forest is a birder's paradise. A combination of birds and primates, easy access, a good infrastructure along with a variety of interesting activities make this forest ideal for primate and avian watching safaris to Uganda. Most of the facilities are community based, with a view to providing the local community with the necessary revenue to keep their interest focused on the sustainable protection of the area.

3 DAYS SAFARI TO KIBALE FOREST NP

Day 1
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Kibale np via Mubende to Fort Portal. Situated amidst rolling hillsides, Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the enchanted “Mountains of the Moon.”

Have dinner and an overnight at the tree house at kanyankyu ecological centre (Budget) or Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury)

Day 2
After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for chimp tracking at 8.00 a.m local time. Have an half day search for chimpanzees and other primates including, black and white Colobus, Red-Colobuses, Red-tailed and grey - cheeked Mangabeys oscillating pottos, birds, butterflies and many small insects. Detailed explanations will be provided by the guide not only on primates, but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora, confirming that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is best  for viewing bird life and primates in close range. After lunch, we may have a visit to Bigodi swamp eco tourism site that is astonishing, en route encountering rare and beautiful flora and fauna.

Have dinner and an overnight at the Tree House at kanyankyu ecological centre (Budget) or Ndali Safari Lodge (Luxury)

Day 3
After breakfast, a nature walk to the numerous crater lakes and the interraction with the local community can be so rewarding. In the afternoon set-off for Kampala and arrive in the evening.

Have a dinner and an overnight at Hotel Africana or a similar other.
