Murchison Falls National Park Safari: 3 days
Murchison Falls National Park derives its name from the Murchison Falls where the mighty river Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with Hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The park is characterized with a savannah vegetation, Riverine forest and woodland. It is composed of a variety of Wildlife which includes; lions, leopards, chimpanzee giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda Kob, Chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill stock.
DAY ONE.
Depart from Kampala at 0800hrs driving through the famous Luwero triangle and then making a stop-over at Masindi hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, you can now set off to the park on the western arm of the Great Rift valley through Budongo forest to the tremendous falls, where the Nile perfects its stunning falls, fabricating a deafening roar and rainbow in a spiral of the spray.
Retire across the great River Nile by a ferry to the superb comfort and service of Paraa Safari lodge.
Have dinner and spend a night at Paraa Safari Lodge, Sambiya River Lodge or Red Chillis Camp.
DAY TWO.
After breakfast transfer to northern part of the park for a game drive to view a variety of wildlife including Buffaloes, Elephants, Bushbucks, Lions, and bird species. Have lunch and proceed for a two-hour launch trip up to the foot of the mighty Murchison falls where a menacing water escapes from the narrow gorge, provides an opportunity to view the amazing hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and water birds such as kingfishers, shoebills along the river banks. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
DAY THREE
After breakfast, cross the river back via Budongo forest and have lunch at Masindi hotel before returning to Kampala.
However, there is an optional activity of chimpanzee tracking at Pabidi Budongo forest on day three in the morning before driving back to Kampala.
This Safari includes lunch en route at Masindi to and fro the park, Park entrance fees, Ferry crossing fees park rangers, the relevant government taxes. A two hour boat trip along the Nile, full board accommodation drivers allowance and Ground transportation by a 4 by 4 land cruiser. However, the safari doesn’t include any cost of personal nature – drinks, tips, laundry and accommodation in Uganda on arrival.
