Day 1: Depart Kampala for Kasese, Western Uganda
Day 2 - 8: Rwenzori Central Circuit Trail leading you to the Magherita Peak.
Day 9: Return trip from Kasese for Kampala

You can decide to add on a 3 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari, 3 Days Gorilla Tour in Bwindi Forest, 3 Days Chimpanzee Tracking Tour in Kibale Forest or any other adventure in Semuliki National park or Murchison Falls Park! Day 1: Depart from Kampala to Kasese
Transfer from Kampala to Kasese Town. Buy all the food needed up in the mountain. Register with RMS offices. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Magherita or Rwenzori Base Mountain Camp (BB)
Day 2: Hike from Nyakengija(5400ft /1646 m) to Nyabitaba Hut (8700ft /2652m)
After breakfast, transfer to Ibanda, the park headquarters and the Rwenzori Mountaineering Services (RMS) at Nyakalengija and get the necessary equipment for hiking with guides and porters. Start hiking from this point up to Nyabitaba Hut for an overnight. Hiking takes between 5-7 hours.
Day 3: Nyabitaba- John Matte hut (11200ft/3414 m)
Follow the trail from Nyabitaba hut to Kurt Shaffer Bridge traversing Bujuku and Mubuku rivers. At this point it is steep and slippery. Continue hiking up to John Matte hut for an overnight. This days hiking may take 7 hours. Slow hikers may consider going back from this point.
Day 4: John Matte- Bujuku Hut (13000 ft 3962 m)
From John Matte cross River Bujuku and enter the Bigo bog, cross the drier ground up to Lake Bujuku overlooking Mt. Baker and Speke to the north. Follow the trail up to Bujuku Hut. This hike may take 3-5 hours.
Day 5: Bujuku Hut - Elena Hut (14,700 ft /4430 m)
From Bujuku Hut, proceed to Scott Elliot leading to Elena Hut. This the last point for the central circuit. It is also the starting point to climb Margherita Peak (16763 ft /5109m) or Mt Stanley. (You need 2 extra days to climb to the peaks) Follow the central circuit through the alpine zone of sparse low vegetation to crater lakes and descend to Lake Kitandara hut for an overnight.
Day 6: Kitandara hut- Magherita(16763 ft /5109m)
Descend from Lake Kitandara hut leaving Megharita peak northwards overlooking Democrat Republic of Congo westwards and on clear days you can view big areas of Congo and the famous tropical forests of Congo. Descend up to Guy Yeoman Hut (10700ft/3261 m).
Day 7: Nyabitaba Hut- Nyakalengija
Descend to Nyabitaba Hut. The journey is long and may be difficult due to the deep mud and the crossing river. This hike may take you 5 hours. In case you decide to descend up to Nyakalengija it may take you another 2 - 3 hours.
Day 8: Descend to Kasese Town
From Nyabitaba Hut, descend to Nyakalengija (the park headquarters). Your driver will drive you back to Kasese town for relaxation at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Margherita Hotel
Day 9: Drive back to Kampala
After breakfast drive to Kampala or Entebbe in case your flight is scheduled on this day.

View. All the three hotels are of similar standards and feature updated

Paro, the lodging for this trip is either Tenzinling Resort or Tashi
Namgay but when they are filled, we will use Gangtey Palace or Joryanz.
