9 days Primate Search in Uganda and Rwanda.
Day 1
Early in the morning, transfer to Ngamba Island for chimpanzee tracking. The island is a sanctuary to orphaned chimpanzees that are under the management of Jane Goodall Institute. It contains about 30 chimps. You will arrive in time for their feeding so that you can view these apes feed and then go for a forest walk in the afternoon with the young chimps. Have a welcome dinner at the Island and spend the night there.
Day 2
Early in the morning you will sail back to Entebbe and travel to Kibale forest National Park. Arrive in the evening and undertake a nocturnal walk in the park. Expect to see animals like the galagos, Bush babies, pottos and many more. Dinner and over night at Ndali Safari Lodge / Rwenzori view guest house / basic Sky tree house. (BLD)
Day 3
Very early in the morning go for chimpanzee tracking in the forest. The forest is known to harbour about 10 primate species. Therefore expect to see primates such as monkeys, Mangabeys and many more. In the afternoon you will go for a walk in Bigodi swamp to watch out for stunning flora and fauna.

Day 4
After the breakfast transfer to Maramagambo forest- Queen Elizabeth NP for a walk to look out for elusive mammals such as chimpanzees, red tailed and L’Hoest Monkeys, pottos, pygmy antelopes and giant elephant.
Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge (Full Board)
Day 5
If you missed the chimps in Maramagambo, transfer to the Kyambura Gorge specifically for chimpanzee tracking. The gorge is specifically a natural habitat for chimps and can be tracked within the confines of a forested river gorge carved out of the surrounding flat savannah. In the afternoon travel to Bwindi Impenetrable NP via the Ishasha Game Reserve and have a glimpse of the mighty tree-climbing lions. You will arrive in Bwindi at 2.00 p.m lacal time. After a late lunch, a community walk is worth undertaking. The traditional pygmy dance will leave you excited for the whole evening. Their styles of generating fire through rubbing sticks will also amuse you. You may visit local beer brewers. If you still have time, follow the Munyaga River Trail for viewing a variety of birds and butterflies.
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp (Luxury)/ Buhoma Community bandas (budget).
Day 6
After an early morning breakfast go for briefing at the park headquarters before you embark on gorilla tracking at 9:00 a.m. The time you will spend searching for these humble and giant primates is unpredictable as it depends upon the movement of these gorillas. It ranges between 2 - 9 hours. The search is tedious but highly rewarding! Observe these apes feed, play and interact for an hour. You will always desire to return to Uganda - "The Pearl of Africa".
Dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest Camp / Buhoma Community bandas.
Day 7
Drive through Kisoro and the beautiful mountain sceneries to the Rwanda border and across to Rwanda. You will spend the night at Gorilla Nest Lodge in Ruhengeri.
Day 8
Transfer to Virunga Volcanoes to trek the Dian Fossey Mountain Gorillas. After a briefing at the park head quarters, you will commence the gorilla tracking that may take you several hours depending on their movement. You will spend some time with the gorillas, and then depending on the time you encounter these apes you may transfer to Kisoro for a night or spend the night at Gorilla Nest Lodge in Ruhengeri.
Day 9
Drive back to Kampala very early in the morning. You will have a lunch en route in Mbarara and arrive in Kampala in late evening.
Dinner and overnight at Sheraton Hotel / Serena Hotel.
