8 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari Expedition

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at the Kigali Airport our safari guide will welcome you and transfer you to the lodge for checking in and then take you for a city tour. Dinner and overnight at Mille Collines (BB)

Day 2: Gorilla trekking
After an early breakfast transfer to Volcanoes national park for gorilla tracking at 8.30 am. The gorilla trek normally varies between 1 8 hours. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/Kinigi Guest House

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking
After breakfast, embark on tracking the most endangered golden monkey. After lunch, you may have community walk. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/Kinigi Guest House

Day 4: A Tour to Dian Fossey Graveyard
Undertake an early morning hike to the famous Dian Fossey Research centre and Grave Yard. It is here that Dr. Dian Fossey spent close to two decades habituating and conserving the endangered mountain gorillas. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge/ Kinigi Guest House

Day 5: Mgahinga National Park Tour
Transfer to Mgahinga, the most scenically spectacular national park in Africa. Overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge/Travelers Rest Lodge/Kisoro Tourist Hotel

Day 6: Gorilla trekking
You may trek the only gorilla family in Mgahinga national park or track the Nshongi Gorilla Group (the biggest habituated gorilla family in Uganda)
Overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge/Travelers Rest/Kisoro Tourist Hotel

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Spend a day exploring the second deepest lake in Africa with its plethora of birds.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali
Transfer to Kigali for your flight back to your home country
