Kidepo Valley National Park is situated in the norteast of Uganda, isolated from the rest of the country by the sparsely populated, arid badlands of Karamoja region. Kidepo is one of the most alluring destinations in the country with a strong wilderness atmosphere, rugged mountain scenery and exceptional game viewing and bird watching. The dominant habitat is open or lightly wooded savannah, interpersed with patches of montane forest, riparian woodland, thick miombo woodland, borassus palms and rocky koppies.

Day 1
You will be transferred to Kajansi airstrip for your chartered flight to Kidepo National Park. It harbours scenery unsurpassed in any other park in East Africa. Sites to look out for include:- the mountain and savannah of the park that is spectacular, the Narus valley in south west of the park, and the rugged Napore-Nyagea mountain range that forms its western boundary. You will reach the park in the afternoon and then go for an evening game drive.

Dinner and overnight at Apoka Rest Camp (FB).

Day 2
After breakfast go for a game drive that will expose you to a variety of species the park harbours. Five primate species have been identified in Kidepo, including the localised patas monkey and kavironod bush baby which is endemic. 22 predator species include, among others, the black-backed jackal, African hunting dog, bat-eared fox, aardwolf, striped hyena, cheetah, and caracal are found in no other Ugandan national park. Watch out for the less common antelopes such as the greater and lesser kudu, Chandlers Mountain reedbuck, klipspringers, dikdik, cape buffalo, bush elephant, burchell’s zebra, bushbuck, bush pig, wartthog, Rothschild giraffe, eland, Jackson’s hartebeest and oribi.

Have a dinner and an overnight at Apoka Rest Camp (FB) as your enjoy entertainment by the Karamajong dancers.

Day 4
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your chartered flight back to Entebbe.
