Day 1 & 2: Explore Kibale Forest National park. Go for chimpanzee tracking and nature walks in the forest.
Day 3: Explore Semuliki National Park
Day 4 & 5: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 6 & 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Gorilla Trekking in one of the gorilla families
Day 8: Explore Lake Bunyonyi and its Islands
Day 9: Return to Kampala via Lake Mburo National Park with a stop over at the Equator.
Tour itinerary
Day 1 : Kampala to Kibale Forest National park
After breakfast transfer to Kibale forest national park arriving in the afternoon for lunch and later undertake a nature walk to the crater lakes and Nyakasura's "Amabere ga nyina mwiru" loosely translated as the growing breasts on the rock.
Day 2: Chimp trekking
After breakfast undertake chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest national park. After the chimp trek, transfer to Semuliki national park for birding and primates trekking.
Day 3: Primates Trek in the Semuliki Valley
Take a morning breakfast and move to the rainforsts in Semuliki valley for chimp trekking and birding. After lunch return to the forests for a wildlife tour.
Day 4: Semuliki to Queen Elizabeth
Take a morning breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth following a picturesque road along Rwenzori Mountains renowned as Mountain of the Moon. Enjoy a game drive along the way to Mweya Safari Lodge. After lunch at the Lodge, go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel for its excellent birding and game viewing.
Day 5: Wildlife tour in QENP
Wake up very early in the morning to catch up with the early risers especially, the predators such as hyenas and leopards. After breakfast proceed to Kyambura Gorge for chimp tracking. Enjoy lunch at Jacana Safari Lodge and later undertake a forest walk in the Maramagambo Forest. Visit the bat cave where the numerous bats are feasted on by huge pythons.
Day 6: QENP to Bwindi via Ishasha
After breakfast, with packed lunch, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via Ishasha Southern Sector of QENP in search of tree-climbing lions. Proceed to Bwindi and arrive in the early evening. Have a community walk to the Pygmies for their cultural entertainment.
Day 7: Gorilla Trekking
Wake up early in the morning for your breakfast. With packed lunch walk to the park headquarters for a briefing and at 8.00am local time embark on a mountain gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Viewing the mountain gorillas grumbling amongst themselves, and the silverback the head of the gorilla family thumping his chest, sends a chill up ones spine. Return to Buhoma Community Bandas for relaxation, dinner and an overnight.
Day 8: Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
After a morning breakfast, drive through the picturesque mountainous terrain the Switzerland of Africa the Kigezi Highlands and arrive at Bunyonyi Overland Camp for your lunch. After your lunch enjoy a boat ride to Punishment Island where the traditional Bakiga people would abandon girls impregnated out of a wedlock to die of hunger or risk swimming back to their homes and drown along the way. For birders, the islands excellent birding experience.
Day 9: Kampala Trip
Take an early breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with lunch in Mbarara. Make a stop-over at the Equator for photography and then proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening for a city tour.
