9 Days Birding Safari to Kibale – Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi and Lake Mburo national Parks
Day One
Leave Kampala Early in by 7.00 am towards south western Uganda to Kibale forest one of its own Kind that boasts of about 335 species of birds including four species not recorded elsewhere in any other Ugandan national park.  Lunch enroute .Watch out for birds like the Red-winged Francolin, Red-chested Flufftail, White-naped Pigeon, Green-breasted Pitta, African Pitta, Grey-winged Robin, Abyssinian Ground Thrush and Tinny sunbirds enroute. You will also watch out for butterflies, and primate species such as chimps, and numerous monkey species. Other animals include elephants of the forest race, buffaloes, giant forest hog, Peter's, red and blue duikers, etc.  Have a late afternoon birding at the entrance of the Park.

Dinner and overnight to Kanyankyu Tourist centre.

Day Two
In the morning after breakfast go for a full day birding in Kibale Forest on the guided Forest walks expect to see a variety of bird species like Dark-backed and Yellow-mantled weaver, Olive Long-lived Cuckoos, the superb Black bee-eater, Willcock’s Honey guides, Cassins Honey-birds and the forest is also a site for joyful Green bul, reasonably common and conspicuous here but scarce else where in Uganda.  This walk also provides an opportunity to see chimpanzees and monkeys. You will then move back to the tourist
Centre and then after lunch you will visit the Bigodi Swamp in the late afternoon. Watch out for black and white casqued hornbill yellow-rumped and yellow throated tinker-barbet, snowy-headed robin –chats, and brown eared woodpecker.

Have dinner and spend the night at Kanyankyu Tourist centre.

Day Three
In the morning after early breakfast, take a walk in Magombe Forest for more bird species before you drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park for birding around the Mweya Peninsular and Lake George. Watch out for game enroute. You will reach in time for lunch and prepare for a launch cruise in the afternoon. Go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel for an astounding birdlife both resident and non resident surrounding Hippos and other game. You will encounter birds such as the rare shoebill, African Mourning Dove, Grey- capped warbler, the beautiful black-headed Gonolek, the swamp flycatcher, the Great white pink –backed Pelicans, the African fish eagle, great and long tailed Cormorants, common sqaucco Heron. Have dinner and spend the night at Mweya Safari Lodge/ Camping/ Hostel.

Day Four
Early in the morning drive to Ishasha with an objective of spotting tree-climbing lions en route you will traverse Maramagambo forest-Kigezi area. Watch out for game and birds on the road side enroute. Arrive in Ishasha then embark on an evening walk through the sector.  Watch out for birds like the Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl, Red-headed Bluebill, Crested Guinea fowl, Yellow bill, African Emerald Cuckoo, Yellow throated Leaflove, Ross’ turaco’s and many others.

Have dinner and spend the night at ishasha tented camp.

Day Five
Early morning after breakfast drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National park. Watch out for the rare tree climbing Lions enroute.  The park is known to harbour Albertine rift endemic bird species and also offers some of the finest montane birding in Africa.  You will reach Buhoma in time for Lunch, and then in the afternoon embark on the walk through the wide, gently undulating track that runs south of Buhoma through the forest  towards Nteka, allowing  views of canopy and forest edges that harbour birds such as the Equatorial Akalat, Dusky Tit, Oriole-Finch, white tailed Ant Thrush, Black and African Sooty Fly catcher s, Petit’s Cuckoo-shrike and the Handsome Francolin.

Retire from birding for dinner and an overnight at the Gorilla Forest Camp / Buhoma homestead.

Day Six
Early in the morning after breakfast move to Ruhizha. For a few hours watch out for birds enroute. In this section of the forest you will encounter bird species such as Green Tinkerbird, Red-faced Woodland warbler, Archers Robin chat, Northern Olive Thrush, Abyssinian Crimsonwing, and the rare and Beautiful Shelley’s Crimsonwing. In the afternoon you will go birding along the Mubwindi swamp on the short trail. Expect to see birds such as the montane Oriole, Bar-tailed Trogon, white headed Wood hoopoe, the beautiful Grey chested Illadopsis, Carruthers’ Cisticola and the great blue turacos.

Have dinner and an overnight at Ruhizha( IFC).

Day Seven
Early after breakfast, transfer to L. Mburo National park. You will bird enroute along the road. Lake Mburo NP is the best place to see the typical of southern savannah species.  The park is dominated by tall grass savannah-dotted with Acacia and Eurphobia trees which Harbour species such as Black collared Barbet, the red headed love bird, Narina Trogon, Lead coloured Flycatcher, Green-capped Eremomela and Fiery necked.

Dinner and a night at Mantana Tented Camp (luxury)/Rwonyo Camp (budget).

Day Eight
Early after breakfast go for a more birding in the park. You will have a picnic lunch and then take a canoe trip to see water birds and other game such as Hippos and crocodiles. This provides an opportunity to see birds like the lesser and greater Swamp Warbler, White-winged warbler ,papyrus Gonolek, Northern Brown throated weaver , African fin foot, Hamerkop, Malachite Kingfisher, spur winged Plover, African water rail and the rare shoebill.

Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp (luxury)/ Rwonyo (budget).

Day Nine
Early in the morning after breakfast take a game-drive through the park to see the beautiful savannah animals and then head back to Kampala.

Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel / Hotel Africana.
