8 Days Gorilla Safari in Uganda & Rwanda

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Meet our tour guide at Kigali airport upon your arrival and transfer to Kibuye Lake Resort. Dinner and overnight at Bethany on the lake front

Day 2: A boat trip on Lake Kivu
After your breakfast embark on a boat trip to Amahoro Island. Enjoy a delicious meal at the island as the lake breeze soothes you. Sail via Napoleons Cap Island to witness thousands of fruit bats. Proceed to Gisenyi. Dinner and overnight at Kivu Serena

Day 3: Relaxing at Lake Kivu
In the morning after breakfast, enjoy a short tour of Gisenyi and relax at the beach. A grilled Tilapia fish at Kivu Sun Hotel is a delicacy you should not miss. Proceed via spectacular landscapes to Kinigi at the base of the Volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Gorillas Nest Lodge (FB)

Day 4: Gorilla safari
Wake up for a heavy breakfast that will energize you for the gorilla trek in the Volcanoes national park. It may take you between 2 to 6 hours to encounter the mountain gorillas. Return to the lodge for your lunch. In the afternoon visit the twin lakes of Burera/Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight at Gorillas Nest

Day 5: Tracking Nshongi Gorilla Group
After breakfast, cross over to Kisoro and track the biggest gorilla family in Uganda. Stay an overnight at Lake Bunyonyi

Day 6: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After your breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park for a wildlife tour. Arrive early enough for an afternoon launch cruise along the wildlife-congested Kazinga channel between lakes George and Edward. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge / Simba Cottages

Day 7: Game drive in Queen Elizabeth national park
In the morning undertake a morning game drive in QENP and transfer to Fort Portal for your lunch. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Safari Lodge / Mountain of the Moon Hotel

Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
In the morning enjoy a chimp trek in Kibale forest national park. Return to the lodge for your lunch and later drive to Kampala arriving in the evening.

Note: All our tour packages can be tailor made to suit the clients interest.

Day 1 (Punakha / Wangdue)

In Punakha and Wangdue, we will be staying at Punatsangchu Resort or at Meri Phuensum

Thimphu Hotels

In Thimphu, your lodging will be either at Migmar, Jumolhari or River View. All the three hotels are of similar standards and feature updated modern rooms.

Paro ( Day 6, 7 & 8)

In Paro, the lodging for this trip is either Tenzinling Resort or Tashi Namgay but when they are filled, we will use Gangtey Palace or Joryanz.
