Sambiya Lodge
Situated only 15 minutes from the top of the magnificent Murchison Falls Sambiya Lodge is the perfect location for those who want to experience the tranquility of unspoiled Africa, untouched by mass tourism. . The Lodge is perfect for a weekend getaway, holidays and conferences. Allow enough time to experience the uniqueness of Murchison Falls National Park. The open fronted lodge allows a panoramic vista of hills as well as game viewing along the Sambiya River and the adjacent grass covered flood plain.
It has 21 double rooms designed as individual and family thatched cottages which have en-suite bathrooms, fans, screened doors & windows, mosquito nets, and a veranda to relax and enjoy the commanding views of quintessential Africa It is composed of ten Basic bandas for clients seeking low-priced accommodation. Guests take their meals in the Lodge dining area and those staying in banda are allowed to use the lodge pool. Cottages are equipped with rechargeable emergency lights, but clients are advised to carry flashlights and spare batteries with them on safari. The services are friendly and unobtrusive with skilled staff.
Red Chilli Rest Camp
The former Paraa rest camp is situated on the south side of the Nile in a patch of bush frequented by warthog, bushbuck and wide variety of birds. The accommodation is in self contained and brick bandas provided with electricity, fans and mosquito nets. The bar has a fridge, and the restaurant serves decent meals. Though river views form the site itself are rather distant, Red Chilli enjoys a strategic location close to the Paraa jetty. The launch is just 10mins walk down the hill for backpackers while motorized tourists are ideally placed for the early-morning ferry cross the Nile to access the Buligi game tracks. Paraa Safari Lodge
The lodge was constructed in 1997 over the shell of the original lodge built and gutted by bandits during the civil war. Paraa is situated on the north bank of the Nile opposite the launch jetty. The now restored Lodge has been host to many dignitaries in its lifetime- Britain's Queen Mother and Ernest Hemingway to name but a few. The interior has an extensive use of natural materials and African décor that give it an organic feel. It has large luxurious rooms all with private balcony facing the river, walk-in mosquito netting and a spacious bath or shower. There are two disabled rooms. The meals have strong international flavour, plus a daily choice for vegetarians and there is also a good, inexpensive snack menu for casual passer-by. Its grounds are dominated by curvaceous swimming pool and offer a clear, if rather distant and less than awe-inspiring view over the Nile
Nile Safari Lodge Murchison Falls NP
Nile safari lodge is situated a short distance west of the park boundary in the southern bank of the Nile. It is an excellent lodge consisting of several standing tents and wooden cottages on stilted wood frames with en-suite toilets, showers and veranda overlooking the Nile. The private veranda enables you listen to hundreds of weaver nests, silent ripples of water, watch Giant Nile crocodiles, elephants and hippos at the shores.
The Lodge currently has ten rooms, which include 5 wooden chalets and 5 luxury tents, all fitted with en-suite washrooms, comfortable and airy rooms perfectly designed to maximize the experience. The balcony of each room allows you to enjoy a chilled sundowner or early morning tea and coffee served by your personal waiter. The lodge has a restaurant, a bar, and open fire ground strategically positioned for stargazing, bird watching and dancing. A swimming pool that offers you a reprieve from the hot equatorial sun after a day of activities in the national park.
