The lodge is situated a few hundred meters from the entrance gate , consists of about half-a-dozen spacious s/c stone cottages with hot showers and large beds, and a private balcony looking towards Lake Mutanda beyond Kisoro. Also constructed from stone, the cozy restaurant/bar has a useful library of local-interest books and is warmed up by a log fire on the chilly highland evenings.

This smart and centrally located new multi-storey hotel, set in a grassy compound close to the national park office lacks the individuality of the up market lodges listed above but it seems competently managed, unpretentious and functional. Large bright self contained rooms with tiled floor. DSTV, hot showers and a private balcony are decent value

Rwonyo Rest Camp.
It is no more than 1km from the Lakes shores and perched on a hillside. The centre of the camp is a cluster of individually named and idiosyncratically painted bandas using common showers. There are also double tents wit private showers in secluded clearings in the thick bush up hill of the main camp, offering visitors a taste of tented camp atmosphere at very reasonable price. The camp offers you with views of waterbucks, warthogs and even bush pigs at night.

Known to be the largest and smartest hotel in Mbarara, Lake View regency the 80-room hotel lies in large grounds over looking a manmade lake on the outskirts of the town centre along the Fort Portal road. It is popular as a conference centre and as a local leisure resort, since facilities include a large swimming pool, gym, sauna, aerobics, classes and DSTv, as well as a poolside barbecue and disco every Friday night.
Agip Motel
Agip is a luxurious and modern small hotel, situated on the left as you enter from the direction of Kampala. The road side location can make it slightly noisy, but it has friendly atmosphere and is close to all amenities. The restaurant serves quality international dishes, specializing in Indian food and buffets. It has fully carpeted, airy s/c rooms with DSTv and open out on to the gardens.

Hotel Zebra
This new hotel occupies a quite delightful setting on the quieter side of the Hill above Masaka town centre. The ground-floor terrace (and even better, 1st -floor balcony) overlooks a small but pretty garden and green suburbs to the broad wetland of the Nyabajuzzi river valley and green hills. You won’t spot a shoebill at this distance but it’s by far the loveliest place in town for a drink or meal. The conifer-lined ridge top just above the hotel is a fine place for a stroll past some beautiful restored colonial buildings.
Hotel Brovad
The 4-storey Hotel Brovad is easily the smartest in Masaka, and although it lacks the character of the newer Hotel Zebra its self contained rooms, all with DSTv are superior and represent good value. Facilities include a restaurant and shopping arcade.
