Rwenzori View Guest House
Fort portal outstanding hostelry is this universally praised guesthouse on the outskirts of the town, reached by the followin:- the Saka road past the golf course for about 1km then turning right for another 200m or so. The guesthouse offers comfortable accommodation in airy self contained rooms with hot water, and including a great breakfast. The wonderful home-cooked dinners are refreshing change from bland hotel fare. The pretty flowering gardens face the glacial peaks of the Rwenzori. The price is difficult to recommend too strongly! The guest house has a selection of baskets and other local crafts for sale and is in process of constructing more rooms.

Rwenzori Travellers Inn
This 3-storey block on the Kasese road is easily the most comfortable place to stay in the town centre. Its also very good value. There’s a good restaurant on the ground floor, serving simple but tasty main dishes. The lively new rooftop bar provides a panoramic view over the town centre.

Rujuna guest house
This new establishment enjoys a fabulous location 6km south of fort portal. The 2-storey house is set on a high grassy slope above the Kasese road looking towards the Rwenzori Mountains. The grounds include what must be western Uganda’s only croquet lawn. Meals include ‘full English, African Traditional Buffet and international cuisine’.
