Entebbe Accomodation And Lodges

Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel
Despite the expanding list of large up market hotels in Entebbe, this refurbished, former government hotel remains the favourite choice for travelers starting or ending a safari. The ‘Lake Vic’ exudes an atmosphere of tropical grandeur within smallish but immaculate grounds overlooking the golf course and the lake. Facilities include Air conditioned and DSTV rooms, a swimming pool and health club, and secretarial and business services.

Imperial Resort Beach Hotel.
This sumptuous new hotel takes your breath away. A 6- floor edifice, sinuous in plan and blue glass in façade encloses an astounding central atrium that extends upwards all 6 storeys to a glass roof. Glass-sided lifts rise up its walls to 4.5m-wide carpeted corridors and internal balconies which lead to the truly sumptuous rooms. The building has been designed to suggest a wave which is unfortunate since waves don’t have and neither does this hotel.

Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel.
It is situated in large, green lake shore grounds, adjacent to the botanical garden and a few hundred metres from the animal orphanage and has a new swimming pool and gym complex. Other facilities include a grill restaurant with a lake shore annex, and canoe hire. Air conditioned rooms with DSTV.

The Camp has been carefully designed to blend the natural environment which provides luxury hospitality to all guests.

Gorilla Forest Camp
Gorilla Forest Camp has been designed to blend seamlessly into this most atmospheric of environments, carefully-appointed towards the misty valleys and looming, forest-clad mountains that protect this fragile eco-system. Accommodation is in 8 double tents, raised on wooden platforms, each with en-suite facilities and hot and cold running water, WC, basin and unusually – a bathtub looking out onto the forest. Each tent has a spacious wooden verandah where guests can relax, enjoy a private meal and absorb the exotic mystery of the surrounding rainforest that provided the inspiration for the animation of Disney's The Jungle Book.

The Gorilla Forest Camp offers a bar and dining cottage overlooking the rain forest, as well as a raised natural platform for open air dining. At night, a traditional African campfire is lit from where a lecture might be given by a visiting primatologist, the gorilla briefings are undertaken or guests simply admire the myriad brilliance of Bwindi's crystal clear mountain sky.

Gorilla Forest Camp is a permanent luxury tented camp nestled in the mist-swathed rainforests of a mountainside in the heart of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The exclusive location – one of two properties within the park's boundaries - afford Gorilla Forest Camp the status of being the ideal base for gorilla tracking, primate viewing and birding excursions in the park

Buhoma Community Banda.
Run by community members and all profits shared with the local community through funding schools and clinic, Buhoma community camp was setup in 1993 to achieve the afore mentioned goals. Bunyonyi Accomodation And Lodges

Buyonyi Overland Resort.
It lies adjacent to Rutinda village, sprawls down a terraced green slope to a lovely papyrus-fringed bay, frequented by at least one readily observed pair of otters and vast colonies of yellow-backed weavers. The resort has an open sided restaurant /bar that serves affordable meals and has DSTV, a small curio and grocery shop, inexpensive kayak, canoe and mountain-bike hire. A distance from the main camping area are arrow of comfortable s/c twin chalets with hot water, smaller twin rooms using common showers and furnished tents. It is a truly excellent set up for which the only criticism is a function of its high quality –up to 5 Overland trucks might congregate on the campsite and bar on a busy night.

Bushara Island Camp
The medium sized Island of Bushara which lies about 10 mins from Rutinda by motorboat has been developed as a community-run resort with the assistance of Canadian missionaries. It’s come a long way since its first incarnation in 1993 when a few cramped standing tents were crammed with rickety beds to create a furnished tented camp’. From these humble origins Bushara Island has gone from strength, today offering the winning combination of absolute tranquility and isolation taste rustic architecture and as good value for money as you will find anywhere in   Uganda. Lake-view accommodation is available in spacious and secluded self contained standing tents, 2 three-quarter beds, and hot water supplied on request. An open air hilltop restaurant serves pizzas, vegetarian dishes, meat, chicken and fish dishes. The camp has its own motorboat for transfer and the captain is normally to be found at Rutinda Jetty. local village and birding trips can be arrange at the camp You can also access self contained tents at  a price

Arcadia cottages
These new resort has self contained brick cottages perched on the rim of a hill offering truly sensational views over Lake Buyonyi and its myriad  islands wit the Virunga Volcanoes beyond. Meals are served in a spacious bar restaurant with a timber viewing deck outside. The menu is based on that of excellent but now defunct Mbuzi Mbiri and has been related to me as being ‘the best food in Uganda.’ To get there, turn left at the five way junction at the top of the hill as you approach Buyonyi from Kabale and follow the dirt track along the cusp of the hill for about 2km.
