Kibale Hotels And Accomodation

Ndali Lodge
A few kilometers from the heart of Uganda’s tea region is Ndali Lodge which has historical close links with Rwetera tea shamba. The lodge is a perfect place for a weekend retreat, to relax, recharge and watch the abundant flora and fauna a good selection of which can be seen from the verandas of both the lodge and the cottages. Ndali Lodge is perfectly situated, can be reached in all weathers, and provides both a base to visit local historical and wildlife attractions, and an ideal stopping off place for parties moving from Queen Elizabeth National Park up to the famous Murchison Falls National Park; Queen Elizabeth is within 2 and a half hours drive. It has a stunning location on the magnificent dual point high on the rim of Lake Nyinambuga. While the veranda overlooks this lake, the rooms and lawns face additional crater lakes undulating farmland that extends towards the Rwenzori.

Activities; the lodge is close to Kibale national park and thus it allows for trekking of chimps and the Bigodi wetland sanctuary, a place with unique flora and fauna.  While at the lodge you can go for guided walks around farms and the mahoma water fall, also a boat for relaxing meditation of birds, butterflies and primates.

Mantana Tented Camp Kibale
It is a great camp carved into a secondary forest outside the national park. The camps consist of 8 comfortable standing tents each in its own private clearing, with eco-friendly toilets, hot showers and solar electricity. It has jungle atmosphere that is reinforced by the presence of monkeys, parrots and other fauna.

To get to the camp, head south from Bigodi towards Kamwenge for 5km, then take the signposted 2km turn off to the right.

Kibale Primates Lodge
The long standing park rest camp at Kayanchu enjoys a superb site surrounded by forest and alive with mysterious rustles and birdcalls during the day and after dark, washed over by an almost deafening choir of cicadas and other insects. It has for years been a favourite with budget travelers but this will change following the site’s recent allocation to a private concessionaire and the price increase (and rise in standards) that will result. Developments will include the renovation or replacement of five existing bandas and a ‘tree house’ overlooking the Kanyakyu river swamp, the addition of 2 additional ‘tree houses’. Construction of an eight unit tented camp and lodge building. Meals will no doubt improve on those currently boiled to order by members of Bigodi Women’s Association.

Kasese Hotels And Accomodation

Margherita Hotel
It is situated 3km from the town centre along the Kilembe road, this large and recently privatized hotel, with its commanding view of the Rwenzori, is easily the most comfortable pace to stay in Kasese. The public areas retain the faintly depressing aura of outmoded institutional characteristic of former government hotels, and the restaurant is nothing to shout about, charging Ush 8,000 for an adequate main course or Ush 15,000 for a 3-course set menu with coffee. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
