Semliki Safari Lodge
Built on the site of an older, eponymous hunting lodge that was gutted in the early 1980s, Semliki Safari Lodge is widely and justifiably regarded to be the most luxurious bush retreat in Uganda. Accommodation is in large thatched tents with 4-poster beds, Persian carpets, hand-carved furniture, eco-friendly log bathroom and a private veranda. The main lodge is built of stone, log and thatched using materials recycled from the original lodge and decorated in a manner that emphasizes its earthy, organic, open-air feel. Facilities include a large swimming-pool area overlooking a stretch of riverine forest inhabited by black-and white colobus and vervet monkeys. A full range of guided activities are offered.
